Peach Seed (Peach Kernel) | Premium Raw Herb
Peach Seed (Peach Kernel – Tao Ren) is the dried, peeled seed that comes from the fruit of the (wild) peach tree (Prunus persica). It is most commonly used in Chinese Medicine formulas to invigorate blood circulation to address gynecological issues surrounding stagnant menses. It is also very good to help resolve bruising, swelling, and pain from traumatic injury (e.g. strains. sprains, bumps & bruises, etc…) and can help speed the healing process of both connective tissue and bone ( cf: Jin Gu Die Shang Wan formula).
Safety Notes:
- Contraindicated for use during pregnancy
- Not recommended for use by those with the TCM diagnosis of Blood deficiency– pale, sallow complexion, brittle nails and hair, fatigue, etc…
- Use with caution of you are taking pharmaeeutical blood thinners.
- As a single herb, use in a “targeted” way for a short time– that is, not for daily use.
This herb has the potential to move the bowels as well.
