Er Chen Tang is Golden Lotus’s version of the base formula used for centuries in Chinese Herbal Medicine to clear phlegm from the upper and middle jiaos (head, chest, and abdominal regions of the body). If you have “endless” phlegm, this formula is for you – but only if the phlegm is white or clear. Use in cases of excessive phlegm congestion in stomach, lungs, sinuses or ears.
General symptoms that point to an excess of phlegm may include: coughing up copious amounts of clear/white sputum (that is relatively easy to expectorate); stifling sensations in the chest/chest congestion; nausea, vomiting, and poor appetite; and clear, watery diarrhea. These symptoms will usually appear in conjunction with a white, moist, or greasy tongue coating.
