Suo Quan Tang (Liquid Tincture):

Suo Quan Tang (aka “Restrict the Fountain” formula) is a classical TCM formula used since the 13th century to address cold and deficiency in the bladder. It is used by herbalists today to address urinary and post-partum incontinence & over-active bladder that manifests w/ symptoms such as:

  • frequent urination
  • pale and abundant urination
  • incontinence
  • enuresis

Secondary symptoms suggesting the appropriate use of this formula include lower back pain, feeling cold all the time, and chronic fatigue & listlessness.

Note: Spicy and other stimulating types of food should not be eaten while taking this formula

In terms of TCM theory, this formula warms the Kidney and the Urinary Bladder and is appropriate when the incontinence has at its root Kidney or Spleen Yang deficiency. The herbs in this formula bind the essence, warm/tonify the Kidney and Spleen, and restrain urination.
