This tincture contains Zhen Zhu (pearl) – the same precious gemstone that forms around a grain of sand or other foreign matter in the shells of oysters and other mollusks. Pearls primarily comprise calcium carbonate but also contain amino acids & other minerals as well (e.g. magnesium, zinc, iron, copper, selenium and silicon). Its TCM actions are to nourish the Heart and calm Liver wind– in practical terms, this means that one can use this herb for:

Shen disturbance characterized by such symptoms as neurasthenia, insomnia, palpitations, and being easily frightened.
superficial visual obstructions (e.g. pterygium and blurred vision) caused by Liver heat or Liver deficiency… it is almost always combined with other herbs and used as eye drops for this purpose.
Topically (in a paste) to help the skin heal (e.g. w/burns & eczema)

Dosage Instructions for Zhen Zhu (Pearl) – Liquid Extract (Tincture):

Shake Well before each use.
Maintenance Serving: Dissolve 1-2 droppers (1/2 tsp.) in warm water or juice 2-3 times daily.
Augmented Serving: Take 1 full tsp. 2 to 3 times daily in warm water or juice or as directed by a qualified herbalist familiar with the use of Chinese herbs and formulas.
To evaporate alcohol place in hot water.

Amount: varies: 1 oz. = approximately 10 days supply at bottle dosage.
