Get Rid of Headaches and Migraines Naturally With Chinese Medicine

Let’s talk about headaches. Now, headaches are one of those things that just about everyone has experienced in their lives and some people tend to experience them more often or more severely than others. In fact, millions of Americans even suffer from really severe headaches known as migraines that come with other issues like nausea, aura, and sensitivity to light and sound.

Chinese medicine can be really effective in treating headaches, particularly two types of headaches: (1) headaches related to stress or tension and (2) headaches related to menstrual issues.

So for stress and tension headaches this often occurs at work on your way to work after staring at a computer screen, even directly after a stressful event. These types of headaches are commonly caused by what we call in Chinese medicine liver Qi stagnation. Liver Qi stagnation happens when you feel like you’re out of control or you’re frustrated or irritated and all your energy just gets bound up. This causes tension in your muscles, in your acupuncture channels, and can lead to headaches and lots of irritation at the top of the head.

For this type of headache try a formula like Xiao Yao San or even anything with the herb Chuan Xiong in it. We have a formula called Chuan Xiang Wan, which is great at opening up the vessels of the head and allowing for better blood flow and reduction of pain.

Now, if you’re a female and you struggle from headaches either premenstrually during your bleeding or even after you’re bleeding, there’s gonna be a Chinese medicine formula out there for you. Chinese medicine is very effective in treating gynecological issues. It helps with hormone balance and it helps to keep everything working properly through the fluctuations of the month.

Now, I’m a headache sufferer myself and I always have one of these two following products in my bag or at my work desk wherever I go because they work really well when you’re in a pinch.

The first is White Flower Oil and you just take a dab of the oil and you apply to your temples or the back of your neck and that helps you to relieve headaches really quickly. It smells great. It’s very minty and pepperminty and kind of opens up your sinuses so it’s great for sinus headaches as well. The other thing that I love to have is called Po Sum On. This is another oil that you can add and use just during the day. It smells wonderful as well, but this one is really good for those muscular tension headaches. So if you get tight shoulders, tight neck muscles, or any kind of issue that’s kind of muscular – that translates into a stress or tension headache. Put some post-iman on right at the beginning of it and it will really help ease it up.

So read the blog learn more about headaches and Chinese medicine and best of luck.
