Neem Leaf (Azardica Indica):
Neem Leaf (Azardica indica) is an ancient and venerable herb used widely in the Ayurvedic tradition that has anti-viral, anti-biotic, and anti-fungal characteristics. In modern times, neem leaf is best known for its ability to address many different skin issues. It can be used topically by adding it to soaps, shampoo, creams, salves, etc… or taken internally (note that neem leaf also helps regulate blood glucose levels, so it is especially useful for skin conditions that occur in conjunction with that diagnosis (e.g. diabetic carbuncles)). Some of the healing properties assocated with neem leaf include:
- Helps resolve skin issues: Especially skin conditions with pus and redness & repeated skin infection and/or repeated abscess problems
- Helps regulate and maintain healthy blood sugar levels
- Helpful for the eyes: neem leaf goes to the eyes and can be useful for eye infections
- Helps promote healthy digestion: This action is related to neem leaf’s “bitter” flavor
- Neem leaf is a natural detoxifier; again most often associated with topical use for skin conditions. That being said, neem leaf extract might also by used internally to go into the body and help it clean out toxins, either preventatively (before symptoms present as illness) or once you have already gotten sick.
