What is Plum Flower – Release the Exterior Teapills (Jing Fang Bai Du Wan):

Plum Flower – Release the Exterior Teapills (Jing Fang Bai Du Wan) is a Chinese Medicine formula which is best used to help sweat out on acute on-set cold or flu (a “wind-cold pathenogenic attack” in terms of TCM theory) before it can set in more deeply into the body. Take a dose at the first sign of chills/shivering, headache, body aches, sinus congestion etc.. Following this with a hot bath and then getting under the covers will enhance the formula’s diaphoretic effect. This formula is also appropriate to address influenza or measles (without fever), joint pain and stiffness due to changes in the climate (e.g. arthritic conditions aggravated by cold and damp weather), and heat presentations affecting the skin (e.g. urticaria (allergic hives), mastitis, and sores and abscesses).
