Shi Quan Da Bu Wan, or Ten Flavor Tea is a Chinese Herbal Medicine formula that is based off of the classic Ba Zhen Tang (aka Eight Treasures Decoction) with the addition of two herbs: Huang qi (astragulus root, which reinforces the tonifying properties of the formula); and Rou Gui (Cassia bark), which warms the Kidney and uterus. It can be used in a wide variety of situations where there is deficient qi and Blood. It is often used as a tonic for women after menses; it is also helpful as a general tonic for aging or for helping with recovery after surgery or chronic illness. In modern, clinical terms it is considered effective for micro-circulation, adrenal fatigue, gastric ulcers, and increasing immunological function.

Chinese herbs work differently from Western drugs — they help clear the root of the problem. Often these herbs work better if taken for some time, depending on the severity and length of symptoms.

  2. I noticed, since taking 8 pills 3x a day for a month, that my ankles no longer swell from wearing crew length socks, so I will continue to take these pills because when I missed taking pills for a day, my ankles swelled again. Once I resumed the pills, no more swelling.
