What is Plum Flower – Major Bupleurum Teapills (Da Chai Hu Wan):
Plum Flower – Major Bupleurum Teapills (Da Chai Hu Wan) is a classical Chinese Medicine formula (c. 3rd century) that is used when certain imbalances of both interior and exterior lead to such symptoms as:
- alternating fever and chills
- feeling of constriction in the chest; costal or epigastric distention as well
- nausea and vomiting
- constipation (or burning diarrhea)
- irritability
This formula is useful to address acute gastroenteritis, gastrointestinal flu, cholecystitis (acute or chronic), gallstones, pancreatitis, and the fever stage of malaria. It has a fairly complex and intricate design and addresses a very specific pattern** in Traditional Chinese Medicine; thus we recommend consulting with a trained TCM practitioner before using for best results.
