Plum Flower – Jade Spring (Yu Quan Wan)
Plum Flower – Jade Spring (Yu Quan Wan) is a part of a group of Chinese Herbal Medicine formulas that are used in China to address type II adult onset diabetes. In the historical literature of Chinese herbalism, what modern medicine now calls diabetes mellitus was known as xiao ke syndrome (or “emaciation-thirst” disease), marked specifically by the signs and symptoms of excessive thirst, excessive hunger with weight loss, copious (often sugary) urination, and irritability. According to TCM theory, these symptoms indicate that there is too much internal heat drying up body fluids; thus the herbs in Jade Spring nourish the yin, generate and regulate the distribution of body fluids, and tonify Spleen qi. These three actions address the root causes of xiao ke syndrome.
If you have been diagnosed by a doctor with diabetes mellitus, or if you think you may be pre-diabetic or diabetic, please see a qualified & licensed medical practitioner in order to get a full treatment plan as there are contraindications for using this formula (see below).
