What is Plum Flower – Ledebouriella Sagely Unblocks Teapills (Fang Feng Tong Sheng Wan):

Plum Flower – Ledebouriella Sagely Unblocks Teapills (Fang Feng Tong Sheng Wan) is a classical Chinese Medicine formula indicated for use with common cold or flu that presents with high fever, constipation, sore/dry throat, headache, and a subjective feeling of heat in the lungs. It is also useful with pediatric fevers accompanying measles, rubella, and chicken pox (adjust dosage accordingly– we strongly recommend consulting a trained TCM practitioner for pediatric applications of this formula).

Clinical notes: This formula dispels pathenogenic wind, clears heat, resolves toxins, and frees the stool; its primary action is to clear heat from both the interior and exterior simultaneously through the urine and stool and thus is most appropriately applied in cases of wind-heat invasions when there is already existing endogenous heat in the person’s pattern. This formula also vents wind-heat from the exterior to resolve a variety of presentations of skin rash (e.g. boils, urticaria, eczema, and psoriasis).
