Saw Palmetto Berry Liquid Tincture:

Growing native in the American South, it was African-American slaves who first noticed that livestock feeding on saw palmetto berries/fruit grew heavier and looked stronger & sleeker than their counterparts who did not. They followed this example and soon had their own experience of the tonic effects of this fruit– with the added bonus of an increase in sexual drive and fertility!

Fast foward to modern times, where saw palmetto berry is best known for addressing BPH in men. It does this by inhibiting the production of an enzyme that creates DHT, a naturally occurring, modified form of testosterone linked to BPH; but focusing on just one possible use of this herb obscures the wider range of issues for which saw palmetto can be used. It also has benefits as a sexual tonic (helping to increase libido for both men and women), helps increase fertility (again in both men and women) helps regulate the entire uritogenital tract (e.g. addresses irritable bladder symptoms), and can help address dysregulated menses. Some studies also suggest that saw palmetto berry can help retard the growth of cancerous cells in the prostate, but more research is needed in this area.

** Safety concern with the use of Saw Palmetto Liquid Tincture: It is important to note that the active constituents in saw palmetto berry are similar to certain classes of pharmaceutical drugs that treat prostate cancer (e.g. finasteride) and can interfere with appropriate diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, so it is strongly advised by us that you do not use this herbal supplement if you suspect you have prostate cancer or are currently being treated for it without discussing the situation in depth with your doctor.
