Zheng Gu Shui, meaning ‘bone-setting liquid’ in Chinese is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) liniment or external analgesic. Zheng Gu Shui is known to relieve qi and blood stagnation, promote healing, and soothing pain. The formula is known as dit dat jow in Cantonese or die da jiu in Mandarin.

The liniment was used to treat fractures, broken bones and injuries suffered in combat. It is used today by practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat pain or trauma from backache, arthritis, strains, bruises, and sprains.

Zheng Gu Shui is also used by people who suffer from achy feet from long-time standing or people who suffer from Plantar Fasciitis by applying with a cotton ball and letting air dry before putting on socks and shoes. Due to its nature, it can stain clothing if not dried properly. Stains generally can be removed with a small amount of alcohol.

  • Camphor 5.6%
  • Menthol 5.6%

How to Use Zheng Gu Shui:

Rub the area peripheral to the wound with cotton soaked with the tincture. Dress with soaked cotton and bandage gently. After one hour of medication remove the cotton and bandage. Apply two or three times daily until recovery.

For external use only.

Do not use on open wounds or damaged skin, and discontinue use if a rash/excessive irritation develops. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; if swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Keep out of reach of children.

Discontinue use and consult a doctor if:

  • condition worsens
  • condition last more than 7 days
  • condition resolves then reappears within a few days
  • If using for arthritis pain management, discontinue of pain lasts for more than 10 days and/or redness is present.
