Bai Zhi is the sliced, unprocessed root of the perennial herbaceous plant Angelica dahurica.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Therapeutic Actions of Bai Zhi:

The Chinese Herb Bai Zhi releases the exterior and dispels wind-cold. It opens the orifices and is very commonly added to formulas to treat sinus congestion. It also treats frontal headaches and other loci of pain along the Stomach channel (e.g. pain around the eyes, toothaches, and sinus pain).

Bai Zhi dispels chronic (accumulated) dampness in the lower jiao and is combined with other herbs to treat leukorrhea and diarrhea.
