What is Lian Fang?:

The Chinese Herb Lian Fang is the dried receptacle (or seed pod) of the lotus plant (aka water lily—Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.); this is the part of the lotus in which the seeds sit before falling to the bottom of pond, lake, or river where she lives. Charred Lian Feng has a better action to stop bleeding that the fresh herb.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Therapeutic Actions of Lian Feng:

Lian Feng disperses blood stagnation and stops bleeding to address such clinical concerns as profuse/abnormal uterine bleeding, bloody dysuria (xue lin), hemorrhoidal bleeding and rectal prolapse.

Lian Feng dispels dampness due to summer heat and is used to address diarrhea in children and eczema/other rashes due to this cause.
