Stasis in the Lower Chamber– by Plum Flower (Ge Xia Zhu Yu Wan), also known as “Drive out blood stasis below the diaphragm pills”, has the TCM function of invigorating Blood and breaking up Blood stasis. Possible uses for this formula may include:
- abdominal masses, liver and spleen masses/swelling, colitis (w/Blood stasis as the root of the problem)
- A range of liver disorders are possibly applicable – cirrhosis, hepatic hemangioma, hepatitis, jaundice.
- Spleen disorders – e.g. splenomegaly.
- Pleural adhesions.
- A range of menstrual disorders – fibroids, endometriosis, dysmenorrhea
- Pelvic inflammatory disease.
There are precautions to be aware of before beginning use of this formula:
- Do not use during pregnancy.
- Use only under direction during menstruation.
- Use only under direction if you are taking blood thinners.
- Generally not for long term use.
