Properties: Lian Zi Xin enters the Heart and Pericardium channels; it is bitter in nature and cold in temperature.

What is Lian Zi Xin?:

The Chinese Herb Lian Zi Xin is the small, green shoots (or the germ) that sprouts out of a ripened lotus seed. They are collected before the leaves emerge and then dried for use as medicine (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertz.).

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Therapeutic Actions of Lian Zi Xin:

Lian Zi Xin drains Heart fire and to clear the Heart and relieve irritability. Severe cases of heat affecting the Heart (and Pericardium) also present with fever and delirium.

Lian Zi Xin is astringent in nature and is used clinically to address spermatorrhea.

Lian Zi Xin clears blood heat and stops bleeding when this heat is forcing the blood out of the vessels. Clinically, it is uses to address hematochezia, hematemesis, epistaxis, and excessive menstrual bleeding.
