What is Sang Shen Zi?:

The Chinese Herb Sang Shen Zi is the ripe fruit of the white (Chinese) mulberry tree (Morus alba L.). For use as medicine it can be eaten or juiced fresh, dried and taken in powdered or pill form, decocted as a part of a formula, or made into a paste and used topically. Along with Gou Qi Zi (lycium fruit), it is a mild tonic herb that can be taken long term to gently tonify yin and blood and promote longevity (without creating stagnation).

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Therapeutic Actions of Sang Shen Zi:

Sang Shen Zi tonifies yin of the Liver and Kidneys and nourishes blood. Clinical presentations for which the use of Sang Shen Zi is indicated may include: dizziness, vertigo, blurred vision, premature graying of the hair, and soreness of the lower back and knees.

Sang Shen Zi (also) generates body fluids to address thirst with various manifestations of other heat signs that are indicative of yin deficiency.

Sang Shen Zi lubricates the intestines and promotes bowel movements to address constipation caused by dryness and lack of nourishment.
