The Chinese Herb Qi Ye Lian is the dried roots of the dwarf schefflera (or umbrella tree—Schefflera arborcola Hayata) in the Araliaceae Family (same as Ren Shen (ginseng)). This evergreen shrub grows in tropical regions (it loves humidity) and is native to Taiwan and Hainan province).
